MEI-Travel & Mouse Fan Travel owner Beci Mahnken and I were recently given a hard hat tour of this absolutely gorgeous new property, located on Walt Disney World Resort land, but not owned by Disney. This level of luxury has never before been seen or experienced on Walt Disney World property, and it is going to change the way many travel to WDW once it opens in August!
The Four Seasons Orlando Resort is located in the middle of Disney's Golden Oak, a private residential community in the midst of being built. Access to the resort will be gained through the same guarded gate which residents must enter, and will not be accessible to the general public. At this time, deciding to head over for a drink or a bite to eat is not something you can do without resort reservations. Deciding to book a guest room here will be well worth it, however. With stunning views, amazing resort amenities and dining beyond compare.
We were quite impressed with the attention to detail and quality of the rooms, truly the ultimate in luxury accommodations with in-room privacy or the front desk accessible by the touch of a button by the bed or the front door. Many different room configurations are available, from a deluxe guest suite to small and large suites, as well as interior or exterior adjoining rooms and the amazing 16th floor Royal Suite, which can be connected to up to 9 other rooms. And the views – let's not forget the views! From the 6th floor up, guests with a park view will have a perfect spot for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks. Depending on where you are, you may even see Illuminations as well. All 4 of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks are visible from the terrace of the 17th floor restaurant, Capa, opening in September.
Even if you don't choose a fireworks view, you can still choose a gorgeous view of the lakes and trees surrounding the property, and those with a "Golden Oak view" will also see nearby SeaWorld and other area attractions visible from the hotel. The pool area is almost a theme park in itself, with an adult pool, a family pool, and a kids play area called Explorer Island, with a lazy river, water slides, and "abandoned fort" feel to the surroundings. The spa area will have beautiful views, overlooking the former Osprey Ridge golf course, now renamed Tranquilo Golf Club and redesigned by Tom Fazio.
While the Four Seasons does not offer Extra Magic Hours or Magic Bands, they DO offer complimentary childcare – which makes me want to book a stay right now! In fact, Beci was so impressed that she extended her upcoming travel plans to include a stay at the Four Seasons. We just loved it that much.
