Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
One of the main purposes behind my trip to Disneyland earlier this month was to check out the new Cars Land area of Disney California Adventure. Located just past "a bug's land", Cars Land features three new attractions and three new food options.
First impressions… when you first take the left turn down the main drag, it is almost disorienting. The resemblance to the movie is spectacular. You feel as though you have suddenly become part of the film, a sensation that is heightened by the sights, sounds, and fact that Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater drive by at regular intervals!
But Cars Land truly comes to life at night. At sunset each day (time varies), the neon lights are turned on. It is magical as the buildings seem to come to life and the crowd noise reduces to a hush for just a moment.
It has been said many times that Disney is in the details, and Cars Land is arguably the best example of this maxim to date. Be sure to check out the signs, every sign from the smallest to the largest is customized for Cars Land. Even the seemingly familar KofC sign that welcomes you to almost every town in America. In Cars Land – it's not the Knights of Columbus. It's the Knights of Combustion! Details like this enhance the feeling of having been dropped into the middle of the movie.
