Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
Last week I had the incredible opportunity to attend training at the Universal Orlando Resort. Having never visited Orlando's "other" theme park and being a die-hard Disney fan, I was unsure what to expect. I am pleased to say that I was blown away by the resort and the parks – especially Islands of Adventure!
To say that I was looking forward to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be an understatement. I have read the series multiple times, seen every movie, and yes, stood in line at midnight to get my hands on the last book. The morning of our planned visit dawned cool and misty. Perfect for my first visit to Hogsmeade!
As we turned under the arch, I caught my first view of Hogwarts Castle in the distance, shrouded in clouds. The Hogwarts Express greeted me at the base of the street and I was done for. I stood there with my mouth hanging open until someone prodded me to get my picture taken! Our fabulous Sales Manager had warned that there is one person in every group who cries when they see it, and I was determined not to be "that" agent! (But it was a near miss. I will admit to some slight mistiness but no tears!)
The attention to detail is staggering. I could have spent hours wandering, looking in store windows, browsing the shops and investigating the little nooks and crannies. At least, had it not been for the fact that we were on a schedule! I highly recommend leaving time in your day to simply explore this World. And don't forget to look up in the buildings!
First up was breakfast at Three Broomsticks and then we were on to tackle The Forbidden Journey.
Up tomorrow – the attractions of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
