Hakuna Matata
I am writing this from a rather small hotel room close to the JFK airport. Tomorrow morning I will be boarding South African airlines for a 16 hour flight to South Africa. From the point on it will be Hakuna Matata for 11 nights! For anyone that might not know what that means it means “No Worries†and that is exactly what an Adventure by Disney is all about. A Disney rep will meet us at the airport and transport us to some amazing, world class resorts and they make it as easy as possible. They will even handle our luggage for us. Most meals and activities are also included. They even take care of just about all the tipping for us too.
I cannot wait to see each of the resorts will be staying at. First, we will be staying 4 nights at the Table Bay Hotel http://www.hoteltablebay.co.za/ Even though we are in Cape Town, South Africa I will be thinking of Walt Disney World since the Table Bay Hotel is on the Victoria and Albert waterfront.
Next, we will move over to Knysna where we will spend 2 nights at the Pezula Resort and Spa http://www.pezula.com/ I have a feeling this one will be my favorite since it is on the beach, has a castle, and has a restaurant named Zachary’s. I wish we were going to stay here longer but our next resort will be where will be on a private game reserve and get to get to the safari part of our Adventure. We will head up to Kapama for the last 3 nights of our Adventure. Here will be will staying at Kapama River Lodge at Kapama Private Game Reserve http://www.kapama.co.za/ I have a feeling this might remind me a little of the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I will try to post from our Adventure with more details and photos but to give you an idea what will be doing here are some of the highlights – a cableway up to Table Mountain, a visit with penguins on the beach, wine tasting, meet some moneys, dinner with elephants, and of course early morning and evening safaris. If posting from the adventure doesn’t quite work out I will be sure to give a full report when I return.
