Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
This weekend marks the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. As the daughter of a survivor, this post is dedicated to all the ordinary heroes of that day. Those ordinary citizens who ignored the instinct to run away from grave danger and chose instead to stay and help. The professionals – firefighters, police, emergency medical personnel – have received many well-deserved accolades for their actions that day and I honor them as well. But I am talking about the many random acts of heroism that took place that morning.
I took many lessons from that life-changing day but the most significant was how short life really is. I know it's cliched but true. None of us knows what comes next. I made a conscious decision to appreciate more and to follow my passion. I found a way to make magic a part of my every day life. I committed to helping my family and others, make memories to last a lifetime. I have gained so much since that day – my clients, listeners, readers, and friends.
I recognize how astonishingly lucky I was that day. I am forever grateful. The losses suffered by many are incalculable. We remember and as it says in Illuminations, my favorite Disney nighttime spectacular, "We go on…through the joy and through the tears."
Now you know why I close every blog with… "Be well and make magic wherever you go!"
