Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Tom Skaggs, recently made a speech that offered a peek at what is coming for Walt Disney World. The new information that has lit up the Twitterverse and Blogosphere is the development of technology that will allow guests to reserve times to ride attractions and attend shows, before they ever leave home! Dubbed "Advance Attraction Reservations" or "Advance FASTPASS" by fans, this has some Disney Fans turning cartwheels while others are up in arms.
For me, I don't forsee it making much difference to my touring plans. A person that has an advance FASTPASS is the same person that would make a bee-line for the FASTPASS machine as soon as they got to a park. For those uber-planners among us, it will be just another tool to help with those minutely detailed spreadsheets. (You know who you are!) For the more laidback, it's a way to guarantee they get to ride one or two of their favorite rides and spend the rest of their trip touring at their own pace.
No date has been announced for the implementation of the new system so we'll just have to wait and wonder!
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
