Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
So we all know that I am a huge fan of the Disney Cruise Line so it comes as no surprise that I loved my time on Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, the Disney Dream. But there were a couple of things that failed to impress me.
Guest Services. In spite of my calling to make sure my Castaway Club number was listed on my reservation, I did not receive a Castaway Club gift in my stateroom. I went to Guest Services twice and asked my stateroom host, and was assured they oversight would be corrected. I never did receive my gift. Is it a big deal? Not at all. But my interactions with Guest Services left quite a bit to be desired. They seemed confused as to what exactly I was referring to, wrote my information down on scraps of paper and never seemed to really be on top of things. I also had to speak with them when I left my camera in the Walt Disney Theater by mistake one morning. Again with the scraps of paper, confused looks and hushed consultations with other cast members as to where they should even be looking. A training issue? Sure. This is a new crew. But my expectation is that Guest Services should be the best trained staff on the ship with the most knowledge and the highest level of Disney customer service. I feel confident that this is an issue that will resolve itself with time.
