Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
Happy Friday! Let’s finish out the week with the follow-up to yesterday’s FAQ: What counter service restaurants do you recommend?
Epcot: This park is hands down my favorite for counter service restaurants. From Fish & Chips in the UK pavilion to enchiladas in Mexicothere is great grub to be had here. My two favorites…
Sunshine Seasons Food Fair – Located in The Land pavilion, this "food court" offers many different choices at different stations. Unlike Cosmic Ray’s at the MK, there is one centralized check out making it much easier for everyone to get what they want before paying. There is a salad station, grill station, fresh fruit, bakery (do NOT miss the chocolate ginger cake!) and cooler filled with grab & go items.
Yakitori House – Tucked away in the Japan pavilion is this counter service gem. Serving sushi, tempura and udon noodles the best part of this location is the outdoor dining. Walk out the other side of the restaurant and outside to find a beautiful dining patio decorated with japanese lanterns overlooking a koi pond. It is a little piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the park. My favorite is the tempura udon- shrimp tempura served over udon noodles and broth. Yummy!! (And thanks to my buddy Leslie who turned me on to this spot!)
Animal Kingdom: Confession time! I left this park for last as it is my least favorite of all the parks in terms of food. But things began to look up last year with the addition of Yak & Yeti which offers both table and counter service dining. The portions are big and the food is yummy. My favorite is the Lo Mein which easily feeds two. And I cannot leave without a yummy Yak Attack – a delicious FAB! (Frosty Adult Beverage…) If barbecue is your thing, Flame Tree Barbecue offers pork, chicken, turkey and beef smoked right on site. Walk down the path to the left of the restaurant and down some stairs for a lovely dining patio. But watch out for the birds!
So that’s it! My recommendations for quick service dining at the theme parks. Coming up next week – what about the resort of Walt Disney World? Resort dining and Downtown Disney.
P.S. Did I miss your favorite spot? Leave a comment about your favorite counter service!
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
