Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
I had the incredible honor of being a part of Team Allears this year, raising money for the Avon Foundation for Breast Cancer. I ran the Pluto Family Fun Run 5k a week ago today. (Has it already been a week?!) This was my first ever 5k and my first runDisney event!
It is easy to see how runDisney races became so incredibly popular, so fast. Where else can you find Disney Characters cheering you on as you run? The energy in the corrals and along the race course is electric, with tons of guests and cast members cheering you on and high fiving you as you pass.
My race took place on a cool, drizzly morning in Epcot. It began when it was still dark out and there was something magical about seeing it grow gradually lighter as the race progressed through backstage areas and finally into the World Showcase. Longer races take you through even more parks with the Marathon making its way through all four parks.
I'll say it – I'm hooked! I'm already planning a longer distance race next year. Even my husband and son have been inspired to register for races! If you are contemplating a runDisney event, be ready to commit as soon as registration opens as the more popular races sell out in hours.
There are runDisney events throughout the year in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. I promise there is a race that is right for you!
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
