Greetings fellow Mouse Fans and Happy Halloween!
A nice "treat" on my recent trip to Walt Disney World was getting to test the new Magic Bands. The bands are made of a durable rubber material that is waterproof. (In fact, they are already being used on the Disney Magic in the Kids Club!) The Bands are adjustable and can be made smaller for little wrists by simply removing the outer gray border, leaving just the colored portion.
Guests who register with My Disney Experience prior to their trip will have the chance to customize their bands by picking a color and choosing a name to be printed on the inside. You can add "bling" to them at Walt Disney World Resort shops by pruchasing "Band Its" – kind of like Jibbitz for Magic Bands, as well as wraps and more to make the bands cuter and more comfortable. (Your wrist does sweat a bit if it is hot out!)
Be sure to pack your Magic Bands in your carry on bag because you will start using them at the Orlando Airport! When you arrive at the Disney's Magical Express desk on Level 1 of Terminal B, just scan your Magic Band and the Cast Member will direct you to the correct queue! No more fussing with vouchers!
Once you arrive at your resort, you will be asked to choose as PIN at check in. This will enable you to use your Magic Band for charging! Tap the Band to enter your room, to enter a park, to access the FastPass+ queue at the assigned time, to use your Dining Plan credits to pay for dinner, and even to charge the gratuity to your room!
I fell in love with the Magic Bands. They are incredibly convenient, saving me from having to fumble around for my key when carrying an arm full of food, mugs, etc back to my room from the food court. One tap of the band and we were in the room!
Up next week – Be Our Guest!
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
