Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
Beginning October 9, 2013, Walt Disney World and Disneyland will be replacing the Guest Assistance Card with a new Disability Access Service Card. The new Card will offer guests with special needs a return time based on current wait times at each attraction. When guests return at the designated time, they will be directed to the Fastpass entrance where available or to the wheelchair entrance when applicable.
I understand that this new system has been in the news quite a bit this week but since the system is not yet in place, I am deferring any type of commentary or opinion regarding the new system. I was pleased to learn that Disney consulted many sources within the special needs community, including Autism Speaks. The system is geared to assist those with both visible and invisible needs. I look forward to learning more on October 9th!
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
