Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
Whether you have picky eaters or bottomless pits (like my son), dining is an important part of the planning process for your Disney trip! Walt Disney World guests can book Advanced Dining Reservations up to 180 days in advance of their trip.
Walt Disney World is a magical place where even reluctant eaters may be inspired to try a new food or vegetable if encouraged by Mickey or their favorite Princess! Disney's Magic of Healthy Living initiative also means that parents will find far more choices than the usual mac & cheese and chicken nuggets. Carrots as an alternative to French fries, whole grain burger and hot dog rolls, and grilled chicken on the kids menu are just a few of the examples of the healthier alternatives Disney offers. (Don't worry – you can still get chicken nuggets and French fries too! It's all about choice.)
Check out the menus at www.AllEars.net to start your planning. Have your kids check out the menus and identify some restaurants they may like to try! I recommend choosing character meals first! Princess Meals and Chef Mickey's can be particularly tricky to schedule so decide if these are a must do for your kids, then move on to other table service meals.
One of my favorite ways to get kids excited about food and dining at Disney, is the schedule a meal at the Garden Grill in The Land pavilion. This character dinner features some of your favorites characters such as Mickey, Pluto and Chip & Dale plus the restaurants SPINS! Ok, it is actually a very slow rotation but still – it's cool! Be sure to ride Living with the Land before your meal. Much of the produce used at Garden Grill is grown right in the greenhouses you will go through on the ride!
They say family dinners are key to creating memories and strengthening family bonds. Sharing a magical meal at Disney is bound to be a memory that will last a lifetime!
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
