Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
The Walt Disney Co. announced this week that it will be buying Lucasfilm, the studio responsible for the Star Wars Saga among many other projects. The purchase also includes special effects company Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound, and video game company LucasArts.
Disney has announced a new Star Wars feature film to be released in 2015, and plans to release a new Star Wars film every 2 – 3 years after that.
But for many of us, the big question is, "What will this mean for Disney theme parks?" There are no answers to that at this point, but I'm pretty sure visions of Star Wars Land are dancing in the heads of fans everywhere! Can you imagine what the combined creative minds at Imagineering and Industrial Light & Magic could create?
For now, fans will have to content themselves with the fervent hope that the next film will live up to the hype and avoid the dreaded Jar Jar Binks-syndrome. I for one am already rooting for the studio in Northern California to be included on a future Adventures by Disney trip along with Pixar Studios! Anyone else?
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
