Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
Cars Land at Disney California Adventure is home to three new attractions – Luigi's Flying Tires, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, and Radiator Springs Racers. Radiator Springs Racers is clearly the headliner, judging from the lines even on a "slow" day in September!
The most important thing to know is that the FASTPASS distribution for Radiator Springs Racers is located in front of "It's Tough to Be a Bug!", before you ever get to Cars Land. If you are standing outside Radiator Springs Racers, looking for the FASTPASS machines – you've gone too far!
Whether you have a FASTPASS, are able to use the Single Rider Line (HIGHLY recommended), or are in the regular queue, Racers is well worth the wait. The first thing that strucl me about the ride is the soundtrack. The music is perfectly timed to the ride and you are immediately transported to the related scene in the movie. My favorite moment is when you round a curve and are faced with a very impressive waterfall, straight from Cars! But the real fun is after you have driven through Radiator Springs and meet your opponent.
Test Track has nothing on this race! With an impressive acceleration, your car takes off. The sense of speed is heightened by the fact that you are actually racing another car. Add just enough bumps and curves to make for a exhilirating ride and by the end, you no longer care who wins or loses.
Luigi's Flying Tires is fun, especially for the younger set. If you love Bumper Cars, this attraction is for you! Climb into your giant inflatable tire, strap in, and lean! Shifting your body weight controls the tires direction. The tires seat two comfortably, three is one of you is a child. Working together makes the tire respond more quickly so team work is key!
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is similar in basic design to the Mad Teacups so if spinning rides are not your thing – sit this one out! The ride rotates more than you might think. But if you like this type of ride (and I do), then the Tractors await!
Up next week – food at Disney California Adventure and tips to make the most of your day.
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
