Summer is the rainy season at Walt Disney World. Daily afternoon showers are not uncommon! Don't let a little rain spoil your vacation. After all – a rainy day at Disney is still better than almost any day anywhere else!
A few tips to help you stay sunny on a dismal day. First of all – don't let the rain stop you! Almost all attractions at Walt Disney World and Disneyland continue to operate in the rain unless lightning is in the area. (Even then, this typically only affects outdoor rides such as Dumbo and Astro Orbiter.) So throw on a Mickey poncho and enjoy! If anything, the crowds will be diminished by the less stout of heart.
Should you decide that splashing your way through puddles is not your style, there are plenty of indoor activities to participate in. Rainy days are the perfect opportunity to take a spin on the monorail resort loop to check out other resorts. Shop until you drop at Downtown Disney or catch a movie on the West Side!
Bottom line – don't let a little precipitation be the downfall of your good time. Smile, relax and enjoy your surroundings!
