Happy Anniversary Grand Floridian! 24 years ago today, Walt Disney World's flagship resort, the Grand Floridian Beach Resort – the Spa was added in 1996, welcomed it's first guests. (It must be a popular day for anniversaries – I met my husband for the first time 16 years ago today!)
It was only last year that I had the opportunity to stay at the Grand Floridian for the first time. I am such a fan of the Beach Club, I was worried that the Grand Floridian would suffer in comparison. My fears were quickly resolved when I realized that you simply cannot compare the two. They are each outstanding in their own rights!
The location of the Grand Floridian and the monorail access makes this the perfect resort for Magic Kingdom lovers. Whether by boat or by monorail, your favorite park is never more than a few minutes away.
Dining options abound and range from the casual Gasparilla Grill up to the Zagat-rated Victoria & Albert's.
I hear many guests worry that the Grand Floridian is "too fancy" for their kids. Again – fear not! This is still a Disney Resort and children are welcome and greeted with glimpses of Disney characters throughout the resort's decor.
Disney's Grand Floridian may well be the perfect resort for your next vacation. Check it out!
