Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
We celebrated Memorial Day ealier this week. In addition to taking time to honor those who served our country, Memorial Day is also the unofficial start of summer.
Summer at Walt Disney World can be fun but offers some challenges. The biggest challenge is the heat! It gets HOT! And even more than the heat, the humidity can affect how you feel while touring the parks.
I can't stress enough the importance of sunblock. I see many very uncomfortable people walking around Walt Disney World, bearing a strong resemblance to Maine Lobsters.
Taking it easy is great advice any time of year, but it can be critical during the hot summer months. Heat stroke, dehydration, and sun poisoning are all really good ways to ruin a vacation. Take advantage of shade and indoor, air-conditioned attractions during the middle part of the day. And consider taking a break to go back to your resort and nap or swim.
Misting fans are available for sale all over WDW and these, while pricey, can be a God send. My son bought one a few trips ago and between using it in WDW and even while at home, it was money well spent.
And, of course, hydrate! Hydration is key to staying happy while touring.
Be well and make magic wherever you go!
