Breaking news from Disney Parks today! Disney Parks has announced a collaboration with James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment and Fix Filmed Entertainment to bring the world of AVATAR to Disney's Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. James Cameron, creator of AVATAR, will be working closely with Imagineers to bring the AVATAR universe (including characters from the upcoming two planned sequels) to life.
A land with mythical animals, often referred to as Beastly Kingdom, has long been rumored to be in the works for Animal Kingdom. Sounds like that idea has finally found a match with the fantastic flora and fauna from AVATAR. Construction is anticipated to being in 2013.
