Greetings fellow Mouse Fans!
It's birthday week around here. My son turns 7 on Friday. (How is that possible?!) But since I'm in birthday planning mode, let's talk about celebrating a birthday at Disney!
Disney loves a celebration – any celebration! But birthdays in particular. In fact, Walt Disney World is celebrating the big 4-0 in October! The first step is to simply let Disney know of your big day. Have it noted your your resort and dining reservations. You never know what special surprises may come from that one simple step. Then, be sure to pick up an "It's My Birthday!" button at Guest Services at any of the theme parks. I wore on for my mmphmm (cough, cough) birthday a few years back and was delighted by the response. My favorite was when during the evening parade, from his float Prince Charming pointed at my birthday, smiled and wished me a very clear, "Happy birthday!!" 
It is not uncommon to be brought a special birthday cupcake – candle and all – or be seated at a table sepcially decorated for your birthday. But even more magical are the spontaneous moments created by not only Cast Members, but also other guests.
Up tomorrow: Looking for something extra special? Flowers and room decorations and cakes, oh my!
